Explanation

Roger saw the video below online several weeks ago. He got such a kick out of it, that we watched it several times. Fast forward to this morning...with our colds its been a long time since Mama has had a full nights sleep. Brayden has been getting up in the middle of the night about 3 or 4 and staying up till 5. That's really putting a kink in my sleep. Well this morn he got up at 7 after being up for an hour or so, came trouping up the stairs. He climbs up on our bed, Roger is already gone, so its just me, says "mama awake??". I ignored him. He got down and went and got two or three books, came back and bopped me over the head with them. Much like the video, guess I am glad it wasn't a bat, anyway, I didn't respond so he pried open my eyelid with his finger and I kept my eyeball turned up so he says "Mama eyes icky". He climbs back down and soon comes back with a Kleenex and wipes my eyes. Then he pries them open again, so this time I looked at him and he says "mama awake"?? Well I didn't split a gut then, but I have several times this morning just telling the story!! You see when he gets a bad cold it goes to his eyes, so he often has icky eyes from being sick. We use Kleenex to clean them up then too. He has learned well a few things via video and mama's hand. Again, I am just glad it wasn't a bat he used to try to wake me up!! Mama's aren't really allowed any extra sleep. I am still not a napper, even after 1 1/2 yrs of motherhood, I still don't nap well. Seems I can think of a million things that need done the minute I lay my head down. Ah well a few laughs along the way sure make lack of sleep worth it. Now just try NOT to comment on this post, a little reverse psychology here. :-)

HAVE A GREAT THANKSGIVING!! We will be having two thanksgivings this year as my family will celebrate on Saturday. We have soooo much to be thankful for and we are counting all of them.

Thanks to all our friends and relatives that visit this site and keep up with us. You all are the reason I try to keep this going. Aside from making it my diary of exciting events...we know it helps keep you all close. Thanks for being beside us through all of it, beginning to current. Its certainly been more fun and more Challenging than I had ever imagined. Who knew that being a parent included trying to stay lots of steps ahead. Gives me lots of mental excersize if nothing else gets exercised my mind certainly does. Thanks again!!

Practicing balancing the truck on his head...

Its been some time again...

I have let this slide long enough. Altho I do have to admit that I haven't had any screaming emails lately either, so I was more able to let it slide. Things around our household continue to move along and grow up and go through stages. We are currently reverted back to the "I don't want to eat" stage. That one seems to come and go. I try not to let it be an issue, but its one of those things that he is learning to use to his advantage. To avoid his advantage, he has to stay in his chair and wait until we are done eating now. That usually dissuades him from thinking he doesn't want to eat. Oh the things we parents have to figure out in order to stay somewhat sane. Brayden is also in the stage where we wait and wait and wait to see if Mama was serious when she asked him to do something. Just wait to see if she will do anything about it if I don't do it...yeah that stage. We all did it, probably several times in life to our parents. Well the receiving end isn't so great is it. If only we knew then what we know now...we might have done it differently. But then again, maybe not. :-)
The other night Roger and I were sitting upstairs and Brayden comes up from the frig with a roll of cookie dough in his hands. He says "cookies mama". Translation, I think I am hungry for cookies. We got such a laugh out of that. He usually just gets his yogurt and spoon and comes to me with that for his nighttime snack. But the cookie dough was new and I guess he thought it looked good. Just so you know though, after baking the cookies, he only ate a 1/2 of one. He isn't real fond of them yet, give him time, he will come around.

Here are some pics of various moments in our life lately. We have been battling a cold now for almost two weeks. Guess its going around. I thought we were going to get over it last weekend, but NO, it morphed on Sunday night and here we are still sick. Hopefully by Thanksgiving we will be in better shape.

Another dalmation video

Thanks Aunt Dar for this cute costume that you gave us last year!! We had to pin the legs up a bit cuz they were toooo long, so it will probably work for next year too. Especially with this mama that isn't really INTO Halloween so much.

Some other fun...

Here are Brian (skeleton) and Timmy, the kids next door. Brayden plays with Brian real regular. They have had an awesome summer outside in the yards. These two went up to the school Halloween carnival last night and then stopped by Darrell and Bonnie's last night to see Brayden. We wanted this picture in their costumes.

Find the ghost...

In the pics below, can you find Brayden in the two toward the bottom of the page?? He was my little ghost while taking these pics. I had the camera set on manual so I could determine the shutter speed for dark pics. Anyway, he is in those two pics, let us know if you find him.

See our Ghost??

In the BLURRY pic can you see Brayden?? In the other really dark pic can you see Brayden??
