over x-mas vacation

We have been at Granny and Papa's since saturday evening. We had pro family pics done on saturday evening so we started our vacation early. Brayden did pretty good through all the pic thing. We hope there are a few good ones.

Sunday we had our own little meeting here as a few of us haven't been feeling good. Its been good family time for everyone.

Brayden really has enjoyed it this year. He is a lot more settled and secure than he was last year. This year he is more ready to sit on other laps and be spoiled by others rather than just mama and daddy. Its actually been mama and daddy that really aren't on the radar unless he needs safety. If he feels unsure he comes to find me, otherwise he is just running the household as usual. We looked back at some pics from last year and he has changed soooo much. Hard to believe how he changes until we are looking for it. We are so very glad he is completely normal and healthy.

ITS COLD!!

Our yard is very frosty this fine day. It was really cold here this morning, we saw 1.2 degrees. Thats just frosty. In fact its too cold for any playing outside.

We finally have SNOW

Its a fact, we finally got snow and enough to say we have some. Brayden had a great time outside this morning playing in it. He spent just over an hour out there playing. I spent part of the time with him, pulling him on the sled etc, but after I got cold, he stayed out and played alone. I had him dressed way warmer than I was myself. I have never been a snow fan of sorts, so its not really my thing, but I did enjoy seeing him have fun. As you can see his imagination takes him lots of places. I will put some videos on tomorrow of his motorcycle etc.

We also took the time to clean out the dresser today. It amazes me the clothes we go through never wearing them very much, just moving up a size or style. Childrens clothes aren't that much different from adults clothes in that some fit different than others and still carry the 2T size tag. Such is the life we live.

Its beginning to feel like the holidays with winter finally arriving. The roads around here are snowpacked. Glad we could just stay home. Daddy ventured to town to install since everyone else takes the weekend off. That means there is no one in his way and he isn't in anyone else's way either. Free rein of the house you might say. He is still gone as I post this, so he's had a long day. Hope everyone enjoys their weekend.

Just a bit of advice was shared with me...so I changed our comment section so that you don't have to sign in or own a google account in order to comment on our pages. Perhaps that will enable all to comment more!! We used to get comments all the time, but not so much lately. I know everyone is busy, obviously we are too or we would post more, but its nice to get feedback from our friends too. Now perhaps the comments will flow!! :-)

The wind came up this afternoon and the snow is long gone. Glad they got to enjoy it for a little while. Never know, it might be the only snow we get for a while.

Thanksgiving

I have been meaning to get this updated since Thanksgiving, tells you how much is going on here. I just don't seem to get around to it. Thanksgiving went off without a hitch, of course I was only cooking the desserts so that wasn't difficult. We had a really good day with Roger's family. Brayden had lots of people willing to entertain him for hours. In fact he went without a nap all day because we wanted him to take advantage of cousins being here that he doesn't get to see very often. He rose to the occasion without having fits or anything. Its actually really a blessing that he doesn't seem to have many meltdowns in public due to lack of sleep. They do happen at home, but not usually in public. That is a very nice thing!! He didn't really eat much for either meal, too much action I would suppose. If I remember correctly, he made up for it the next day. We spent Friday here at home and then headed up to Grandpa and Granny's for the weekend. Of course up there, Brayden had plenty of people willing to entertain. Even Daddy was willing to entertain, but Brayden wasn't wanting Daddy to bother. He spent a lot of time telling Daddy "NO", wanting Papa and Aunt Jean to fill in instead. Even mama was allowed to get in on the action, just not daddy.

After coming home Sunday we started the "coming down" process. It took a day or two to get him back to normal. I think he decided that mama and daddy are just BORING when its just us. Now things are normal again and he is finding ways to have fun while we are busy. We got some snow on Saturday, so Daddy took him out sledding yesterday and again just a little bit before lunch. It was warm enough for him to be outside for awhile before lunch, so he was out for an hour or so and Daddy played with him for the last 25 min before lunch. As long as I get him dressed warm enough I think he will love playing even when its cold. We have noticed that he likes to go to the shop more now with it being cold. Beats staying in the house all day long!!

We are looking forward to X-mas!! Uncle Bobby should be joining our household sometime in the next week or so, and Aunt Amity is coming home on the 21st. Of course we have just seen Aunt Jean at thanksgiving, but she will be coming home too. It will be nice to all be together again for several days. Happy Holidays to all!!
